Love Fortune
Right in the center of New York City’s Chinatown there is a tiny little restaurant, Love From Mr. Woo. Sure it has an unusual name, but the restaurant is one of the city’s best kept secrets. Tons of locals flock there daily, however, they aren’t just coming in for the orange chicken.
You see, Mr. Woo’s has a strange tradition, one that has been going on for years. In fact, it’s the reason so many teenagers are constantly wandering in and out of the place. At the end of your meal, your waitress hands you a fortune cookie. But, unlike most Chinese restaurants, this isn’t any ordinary cookie. In it, is a quote or song lyric that pertains to love. It doesn’t just stop there. Your cookie isn’t the only one with that particular fortune. Legend has it that your soul mate, the person you are destined to be with, will receive a cookie of their own, with the same exact fortune. Most don’t believe in the cookies. They simply go in to see what sort of fortune they’ll get, and that’s the end of it. However, there are others who enter the restaurant with the hope that somehow they will find their soul mate, all from a simple fortune cookie.
Now, Mr. Woo’s wife has decided to do something new. The owner’s wife believes in the power of love and that everyone should have the opportunity to find their soulmate. That is why she chose to do something very special for 12 lucky people who entered her restaurant. She is sending them on a vacation to the one and only “City of Love,” Paris, France. She believes that 6 couples will emerge from the group. They are all strangers, but they have matching fortunes, which means they are soulmates. Mrs. Woo knows they are destined to be together, and this is their chance to finally find love, with each other.
